Excerpt from the book “The Rights of God” by Terry Wild
The world is standing at a critical crossroads. The events unfolding before our eyes are not merely political shifts, cultural movements, or ideological struggles. They represent a larger battle for truth, morality, and spiritual allegiance. More than ever, there is a need for clarity and understanding concerning the future of what is commonly called "The Christian Church" and the current political situation, particularly in the United States of America. What is at stake is not only the stability of nations but the purity and mission of the Body of Christ in a world determined to redefine it.
A TURNING POINT IN MODERN HISTORY
The political landscape of the modern world began to dramatically change with the presidency of George H. W. Bush. In 1991, during the aftermath of the Gulf War, Bush uttered the words: “A New World Order” — words that reverberated far beyond politics. The concept seemed to promise unity, global cooperation, and prosperity. Yet behind the optimism lay a deeper agenda: the re-structuring of global power and the erosion of Biblical values within Western civilization.
During this period, Brussels was already advancing toward the establishment of the European Union. What appeared to be an economic coalition became a centralized political entity with ambitions that would eventually rival the sovereignty of nations. Simultaneously, the Muslim world embarked on a calculated strategy of populating Western nations through migration, cultural influence, and religious propagation. Parallel to these developments, the far-left “woke” agenda began its rise, championing radical redefinitions of morality, gender, and family structure. The LGBTQ political influence, once confined to the margins, began to permeate every level of government, business, and even religion.
These shifts did not take place in a vacuum. Under the leadership of presidents Bush, Clinton, Obama, and Biden, the Western world drifted dramatically to the left, embracing philosophies and policies that undermined Biblical morality. The result has been a sweeping transformation in the cultural and spiritual fabric of society.
THE ILLUSION OF HUMAN CONTROL
At the heart of these developments is the illusion that human beings can control history, establish a utopia, and legislate morality apart from God. This is the same deception that has existed since the Tower of Babel — man’s attempt to dethrone God and exalt his own power. The globalist agenda, the re-shaping of institutions, the rise of secular progressivism, and the militant rejection of Biblical truth all fall under the category of humanity’s efforts to establish evil over the land.
Yet Scripture reminds us of an unshakable reality: Jesus Christ is in complete control. Psalm 2 describes the rulers of the earth who conspire against the Lord and His Anointed. Their schemes are met with the laughter of God, who has already set His King on Zion. Christ is not merely the Savior of individual souls; He is the head of the government of the universe. Isaiah 9:6–7 declares, “The government will be upon His shoulder… of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end.”
This means that the true battle is not about who occupies the Oval Office, Parliament, or the United Nations. The ultimate question is: who rules the affairs of the human heart?
THE ASSAULT ON THE CHURCH
The present danger lies not only in political corruption but in the assault against the Christian Church itself. The effort is clear: to transform the Church into a woke institution, stripped of its Biblical foundation and redefined by cultural ideology.
This assault seeks to replace Christ’s Lordship with the spirit of Antichrist. What is the Antichrist spirit? It is any teaching, philosophy, or movement that denies Christ’s authority, distorts His Word, and elevates man’s wisdom above God’s truth. John writes in 1 John 2:18, “Even now many antichrists have come; by this we know that it is the last hour.” The Antichrist spirit is already working, not only outside the Church but within it.
Across denominations, we witness churches embracing progressive ideologies: blessing same-sex marriages, ordaining leaders who reject Biblical morality, and redefining sin to fit cultural acceptance. Instead of being the pillar and ground of truth (1 Timothy 3:15), the Church is at risk of becoming a mirror of the world’s brokenness.
CHRIST'S UNCHANGING STANDARD
Yet, the Divine Order of God cannot be altered. Jesus Christ is the essence of Divine Order — the fullness of the Godhead bodily, both Divine and human (Colossians 2:9). In His humanity, God came near so that we might relate to Him and partake in His nature. To embrace Christ is to embrace God’s eternal design for human life and society.
When the Church forsakes this foundation, it loses its prophetic voice. Instead of calling nations to repentance, it validates their rebellion. Instead of proclaiming the narrow way that leads to life, it widens the path of destruction. Instead of aligning with the Kingdom of God, it conforms to the kingdoms of this world.
But God has not left His people without hope. The call of the hour is to return to Christ as Lord, to rediscover His eternal plan, and to walk in alignment with His original purpose for His people: to be a holy nation, a royal priesthood, and a peculiar people (1 Peter 2:9).
THE HUMAN HEART: THE TRUE BATTLEGROUND
The political storms of our time often lead believers into fear, despair, or misplaced trust in human leaders. But Christ is clear: His Kingdom is not of this world (John 18:36). While governments rise and fall, His rule is eternal. And His focus is the transformation of the human heart.
The Antichrist agenda may seek to dominate laws and institutions, but Christ seeks to reign within people — spirit, soul, and body. Through repentance, baptism, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, believers are restored into the image of God. They are called to partake in the Divine nature, experiencing unity with God’s character, and reflecting His love, justice, and holiness in daily life.
Even though we are finite and limited, we were created with the capacity to know God at a level of satisfaction, fulfillment, and appreciation. We can feel what He feels, sense His goodness, and rejoice in His works. Like children sharing the DNA of their father, believers share in the life of God, bearing His likeness in the midst of a dark world.
Everyday Implications of Divine Order
The Divine Order of Christ is not a distant theological concept; it touches every aspect of life. For Christians, this means:
When the Church embodies this order, it becomes a prophetic witness in the world, declaring that Christ’s Kingdom has come and will come in fullness.
THE PATH FORWARD
The future of the Christian Church will not be secured by aligning with political movements, cultural trends, or global agendas. Its survival and flourishing depend on unwavering fidelity to Jesus Christ. The Church must awaken to the reality that it is in a spiritual war. The goal of the enemy is not merely to corrupt governments but to corrupt the Bride of Christ.
The response must be a return to repentance, holiness, and the Gospel of the Kingdom. Believers must anchor themselves in Scripture, be filled with the Holy Spirit, and live in anticipation of Christ’s return. Above all, the Church must proclaim boldly that Jesus Christ is Lord — over nations, ideologies, and human hearts.
LED BY THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST?
The words of George H. W. Bush in 1991 signaled the dawn of a new global order. Since then, the world has been reshaped by political unions, cultural revolutions, and ideological battles. Yet above the noise of history, the voice of Christ declares His unchanging Lordship. The true order of the universe is not determined in Brussels, Washington, or New York. It is determined in Zion, where Christ reigns as King.
The question before us is simple yet profound: will the Church bow to the spirit of Antichrist and become a woke institution, or will it stand firm in its calling as the spotless Bride of Christ?
The answer depends on the hearts of God’s people. For it is not who rules the political affairs of the land that matters most, but who rules the affairs of the human heart. And in that arena, the victory belongs to Jesus Christ alone.
